pagan ... and proud
Yep, you saw that right: Pagan and Proud. But no, it has nothing to do with witches or having my own personal book of shadows. And I don't worship "the mother", "the earth", or "the universe". It's much simpler than that, really. I'm just a simple pagan, and have been my whole life. Oh, what do I mean by that? For those who didn't see it coming, I'm a pagan by virtue of my surname.
Growing up pagan, I've pretty much heard it all by now. You know, the usual sideways glance and raised eyebrow when giving out your name, like at the pharmacy or checking out at the store. Best yet is when meeting new people at church. Now that gets a good laugh or two. Our pastor has taken great joy in telling others that we are his "saved" pagans :-)
Anyway, that's why I'm pagan ... so, you may ask, why am I proud? Well, I guess you could say it's because I am carrying on the fine tradition of Pagans (of which I am very proud). However, I’m not sure whether I would have thought of being proud had I not been given a bumper sticker many years ago by a colleague who was a member of Mensa (this is significant only in that members of Mensa at that time enjoyed having toga parties ... for one of them, they had made these bumper stickers). It was simple enough: a black sticker with large green letters that said, simply, “Pagan and Proud”. It must have been almost a quarter century ago, now, but I’ve hauled the bumper sticker around with me over the years. It’s adorned my office in one way or another ever since.

So here’s the “Pagan and Proud” web page. an eventual collection of random things that are important to me, or that I find interesting. As I start out, I really have no idea what I will end up including, but I suppose that’s all part of the fun ...
pagan and proud ... what the?
Me - a wonderfully happy husband, married to the woman of my dreams ... six great kids, four special daughters-in-law, two spunky grandkids, a silly ol’ dog name Milkdud, and the newest member of the family: Norman. I guess that sums it up.
